Torrance, CA-based Enova Systems, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of electric, hybrid and fuel cell digital power management systems, recently announced it has entered into a joint development program with a major North American truck manufacturer.

  According to Enova, the validation project, which will feature the company's post- and pre-transmission 120-kilowatt Hybrid Drive Systems, has the potential to lead to future production in the second half of 2006 and beyond.

"Upon successful completion of the initial vehicle, expected to be completed in late 2005, Enova believes annual market demand for these production drive systems could grow rapidly based on discussions with our customers," said Enova CEO Ed Riddell. "The current conventional market for these types of trucks, with this manufacturer alone, exceeds 50,000 vehicles per annum."
